Salute to Lieutenant Colonel David Bellon & Troops: Letters from the Public

David Bellon

Mr. Bellon earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Kansas, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri.
He is admitted to practice law in the states of California, Missouri and Alaska. Mr. Bellon is also admitted to practice before each District Court within the State of California and has been certified and sworn under the Uniform Code of Military Justice to practice before military tribunals. His practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on Personal Injury.

He has extensive litigation experience and has successfully tried several high profile cases before a jury. Mr. Bellon has both prosecuted and defended a wide spectrum of criminal matters to include drug distribution, kidnapping and capital murder. In his civil practice, Mr. Bellon has gained successful resolution for his clients through litigation, determined negotiation and formal mediation.

Prior to beginning his career in Civil Litigation, Mr. Bellon served on active duty as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He remains active in the United States Marine Corps Reserve having served two combat tours in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and currently commands a rifle battalion located in the southeast United States as a Lieutenant Colonel.

I believe I have the right gentleman. LTC Bellon and his troops were in Fallujah prior to the Al Fajr campaign and during. I believe he was "Capt. Bellon" and was promoted in 2005 to "Major". He had a blog which he essentially wrote for his family on the Marines website, but was very popular here among the military bloggers.

He was the site that I read that told about the terrible conditions of the people in Fallujah under the insurgents, the murdered people that were routinely found and those that escaped who begged the Marines to go into the city and save it.

If I am right, I want to say how proud I am of LtC David Bellon and his troops. They are real heroes in my eyes and true saviors of the people of Fallujah regardless of how the media portrayed it.

Without his writing back then, I would not have known the truth about Fallujah.
